Hello guys
I’m currently in bio major and I’ve been thinking to switch my major to engineering because I keep doing bad in bio . Yesterday I talked to my advisor and he said as I’ve excelsior scholarship so switching major to engineering will affect my financial aid and there’s higher possibility that I’m gonna lose the excelsior scholarship because under excelsior scholarship students must have 30 credits in one year , and if I change my major to engineering I’m gonna lose my current credits so basically I’ll have less than 30 credits in one year. I literally have no interest in bio but it’s not possible for me to pay for the college from my pocket and my advisor literally scared me. Does anyone have any same kind of experience? Any suggestion will be really appreciated
Why would you lose your credits if you stay at the same school? Would they just become electives or gen eds if you switch majors? As long as you earn 30 credits for the year, would it matter? I have to look into this as well because my son may be eligible for Excelsior and he is thinking of changing his major.
