I'm very interested in going to McGill, but I'm a little confused about their program(s) for students who want to pursue a career in medicine... Do I have to apply to a pre-med program? Or do I just choose a science major and later apply to the medical school? Someone please explain. Thanks!

McGill, like many if not most schools, does not have a “Pre-med” major. Most students who are premed apply to the life sciences profile in the Faculty of Science. Life Sciences has the highest admission standards of all programs at McGill.

However, it is possible to major in most anything as long as you take the required premed courses as electives.
