Does Mcgill University look at Weighted GPA?

Do they look at weighted or unweighted gpa. I saw somewhere that there average is 3.8 and I was wondering whether that is weighted or not. I really hope it is. My school has the system where a A in an AP class is a 5.0 out of 4.0. Will they consider that. Also, do other Canadian schools consider weighted?

Does anybody know the answer to this question?

I suggest you just call Admissions at 514-398-3910,
or e-mail admissions@mcgill.ca. They were quite helpful to my daughter last year. Let us know what you find out.

I really don't know the answer either, as a McGill "Mom" -I agree with McGill "Dad"-call admissions and stay on it if McGill is your first choice.
My son was, like McGill Dad's daughter, accepted last year.
Call them-stay on it.
Good luck to you.

I just called them and they told me that they don't look at weighted. They said that for the ACT, that if you have above a 26, you are automatically in. Also, for gpa, they want a B+ gpa. I have both so I am not worried.

Automatically in if you have a 26+ on the ACT??? Ummm.....are you sure? Maybe with a 3.5+ average I suppose admission would be fairly probable

they told me I have nothing to worry about. They said minimum is what is minimum to be accepted. They also said average was 26-28. But, some people still get in if they have below a 26 by making it up on standardized tests. And she also said B+ average but that was for math. It would change for a different area.

no they don't look at weighted gpa.

for some programs you have to do well above the posted minimums. the entering froshies for management in recently years have on average higher high school averages (canadian version of gpa), for example.
