Does MSU care about freshman grades & how do they calc gpa?

<p>Just wondering if they count freshman grades in gpa (I know Michigan doesn't) and if they count subjects like music in the gpa in their admission statistics. </p>

<p>Yes, they count freshman.
They only count core academics (Math, science, social studies, english, and foreign language).</p>

<p>Ok thank you. Though I always find it strange when they don’t count a non-academic subject like music, when that’s what they are going to major/minor in!</p>
