Does NC State track level of interest in admissions?

My sons (as I stated before) are looking at Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, University of Maryland-CP, North Carolina State, University of Miami, University of Florida, University of Delaware, Rutgers, University of Texas A&M, UCSD and a few other smaller privates.

I am trying to see which colleges track level of interest as part of the admission process.

There is no reason to believe they don’t. They could easily use registration for open house or other visits as a way to gauge interest. My son was invited to a local reception for HS seniors a couple years ago by the college of engineering. An assistant dean was there and made a concerted effort to talk to each prospect - I watched him and have no doubt he was making notes on interest. I can’t prove it, but in my opinion is that they were making admission decisions that night (assuming the applicant had the numbers to qualify).

According to their 2013-2014 common data set, level of interest (along with recommendations and interviews) are not considered.

My daughter was accepted on 2011 having never attended any “official” tours or events prior to application. As luxyve has shared, it really is not a factor in admissions at NCSU.

It’s hard to argue with the common data set.
