Does Delaware track level of interest in admissions?

My sons (as I stated before) are looking at Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, University of Maryland-CP, North Carolina State, University of Miami, University of Florida, University of Delaware, Rutgers, University of Texas A&M, UCSD and a few other smaller privates.

I am trying to see which colleges track level of interest as part of the admission process.

While not sure if they track online, I do know that demonstrated interest has some level of importance at Udel. It certainly helped my daughter get in. She established a rapport with her area admission rep. and visited the school twice. Each time connecting. She was told by admission, after her acceptance, that she would not have been accepted if not for her effort and making herself known to her advocate…

Are you asking the question because you’re not sure if you’ll be able to visit all of the schools on your list?

Prospective students do sign in for campus tours so UD at least records who came for a visit. Does that factor into acceptance issues? Only the UD admissions department can say for sure although @BigPapiofthree offers a good example that it can help.

Yes, we will not be able to travel to all of these schools. Being from PA, hopefully we get to many, but will not get to all.

I do not know if they officially track interest but in our experience D applied to 8 schools was accepted to all but the 2 we did not officially visit. She was wait listed for both of those schools. She did tour one of those schools with a friend who had a relative attending but never signed up for an official campus tour. She loved Del from the minute she first stepped foot on campus. She had a great GPA and a few AP classes but her SAT scores were less than stellar. She did schedule an interview as part of her admissions process and it gave her a chance to explain she is not a strong standardized test taker and let her elaborate on all her accomplishments. We are OOS NJ and knew the competition would be tough. Needless to say she was thrilled to be accepted into the business school and is a very happy Blue Hen!

When the admissions officer visited DS’s school there was a question and answer session. This question was asked and the admissions counselor said definitely yes. they absolutely track interest.
