I was just wondering if anyone knew whether or not New York University puts much weight on grades in elective classes (like art, gym etc.) Freshmen year, I got a bad grade in an art class and my grade advisor said it wouldn’t count. Of course, I still tried but I’m artistically challenged and my teacher graded on ability. Will that bad grade hurt my chances? The rest of my grades are pretty good.
Most colleges will care more about having an upward trend with your classes getting progressively harder every year.
Most colleges will not penalize you for one bad grade in an art class. They will probably assume you aren’t very good in art.
