haha, do they prefer eder’s? please don’t post statistics of acceptance percentages, i’m wondering would they admit some maybe borderline people ed that they wouldn’t rd?

I'm pretty sure that borderline would be deferred to RD unless they couldn't fill half the class. I'm assuming that Penn does the half ED plan that others do.

lol... i'm 'average' penn... new sat 2130... old 1470... that's why i'm asking

Cujoe, there's absolutely no question that borderline candidates have better odds applying ED vs. RD, and really that's all you need to know in order to decide what to do. If Penn is your first choice, then unless you will need to compare aid offers, go ED.

Penn has a bit of a reputation for taking those in ED that would be rejected RD. If you're sure about Penn, go ED.

oh i am ;)

joe, aren't we all. :) lol

but i've had my heart set on penn for 2 years already

Applying ED to Penn is HUGE. They accept half their class ED and it gives you a giant advantage. From watching my friends this year go through applying to Penn, there were a huge number that got in ED and an even greater number of more qualified applicants (those who were going for HYP etc. early instead) who were rejected RD. For sure apply early.

ed intake is34%

and that's why getting in after being deferred makes me feel even more special but at the same time mad they couldn't just take me the first time around! (but not really. go quakers!)

and to answer your post question: yes.

haha cujoe im in the same boat as you ( just dont know if i wanna apply to penn ed and try to do the duel with wharton. or just wharton straight up)

either way to answer yeah i agree with everyone else its gotta give some boost it seems

as long as ur not seas... GO FOR IT! haha

what's wrong with seas? you just have to work, a little bit...

no, i want seas... i don't need competition

I'll be applying for SEAS, cujoe169. ;)

why do you guys want to go into Penn SEAS, its a lot weaker than other comparable schools. I mean you can't go wrong w. Penn period, but I guess, I am just curious as to why you guys want to apply ED and give up all of your cards for Penn SEAS????

audioslave... what are ur stats? (size up my competition)

cujoe169: Send me a PM and we'll discuss stats, etc.

collegekid1988, Penn SEAS at least in engineering is comparable to Harvard. It is only worse than Cornell and Princeton in the Ivy.
