Does Pitt admit based on the major you apply to?

I know colleges like engineering and nursing are much more difficult to get into. However, would applying to a major in the college of arts and sciences have an affect one admission vs another major in the college of arts and sciences? The few I have in mind are biology, psychology, Spanish, and history and philosophy of science. I’m just wondering if some majors only allow a certain amount of students. Thanks

@pitt2021, We admit into schools, not majors. Freshman enter the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, the Swanson School of Engineering, the School of Nursing, or the College of Business Administration. Once enrolled, freshman officially declare a major. Hope that helps!
