Does Rutgers look at senior grades?

I've had a tough time figuring out how Rutgers applications work and what they look for, considering that a ton of people's answers seem to differ in one aspect or another. Does Rutgers actually look at senior grades, or do they skip over them (like I saw, for something called "rolling applications"?)? And what is the earliest date I can apply? I'm trying to get into the 0+6 Pharmacy program at Rutger's Ernest Mario.

Also, would I be..well, "alright" with scores like these?

SAT
Total - 2000 / 2400
Reading - 630
Math - 650
Writing - 720

GPA - Around 3.6 / 4

AP Classes currently / already taken: AP World History, AP Calculus 1 & 2, AP English 11, AP U.S. History, AP Chemistry.

My GPA is bound to go down to maybe 3.4 or 3.5 by the end of this year, only because of AP Chemistry being a double-period (so I only have 6 instead of normal 7 classes) and the course being incredibly rigorous, hardly any of the students are barely surviving a B since the teacher is teaching AP Chem for the 1st time...

I'm also in various clubs, on the sports team for 3 years, and did a nice handful of volunteer work (planning to do more + an internship this summer), if that helps, since I heard Rutgers actually does put a significant amount of value on outside activity.

Thank you!

Are you in-state?

I think most would say that your GPA is a little low for Pharmacy, but you have a good all around resume when combining your SAT and EC’s with your GPA.

I’m actually out of state, I live in Maryland. And yea, GPA is my biggest worry, I heard Rutgers places a huge emphasis on GPA and, considering that 2 quarters have already passed with high C’s in AP Chemistry, looks like I won’t be able to bring that up to a B (unless a miracle happens on the final, which my teacher said was pretty much a full-fledged AP test) for the year…that’s why I’m hoping that Rutgers actually takes the GPA from all 4 years of high school and not just the 1st 3 years, because I’ll be taking all AP courses next year that I’m pretty confident I’ll do well in.

I believe they will take your Senior year grades into consideration. I would say if you were in-state, you would have a shot, but being out of state makes it a bit tougher. Try to get your GPA up as much as you can, and if you cant get into the pharmacy program directly, maybe apply into a different school within the University and transfer within?

Either way, good luck with everything.

If I apply to Camden / a similar campus with a 2+4 pharmacy program, do I get automatically transferred to Ernest Mario without a PCAT after the 2 years?

Last question, what does the “rolling applications” thing mean? I heard that it means they accept / refuse as they read the application but wouldn’t that mean that early decision would be a bit of a bad idea for me then if I’m trying to save my GPA a bit (somehow)?

Not sure about your first question, but in regard to the rolling admissions, I guess it’s the same as any other University that uses rolling admission…It helps to have strong grades prior to your senior year, but they may consider you and ask you turn in your Senior progress as well.
