On the common app, it only asks me for my cumulative gpa and below that there is a part where I select whether this is W or UW. This tells me nothing about what kind of gpa scu wants to see. Are we talking A-G 10-12? 9-12? cumulative gpa 9-12? cumulative gpa 10-12??? W or UW?:O On my transcripts I have at least four different gpas and I am very confused bc they do not specify.

Pick the one your school most commonly uses or the one that makes you look best that is commonly used. (Probably just your straight 9-12 W or UW.) The reality is, the school is not going to do anything with that single number, they’re going to look at your transcript and get the info they need from there, including massaging it in whatever way they choose to do so.

If your unweighted GPA is 4.0, list that, because everyone will know that an unweighted 4.0 GPA is the maximum possible.

Weighted GPAs are fairly useless unless the weighting system is specified. Some high schools have very exaggerated weighting systems that can result in 5.something or 6.something weighted GPAs. So does that 4.7 weighted GPA have a 4.0 unweighted GPA behind it, or a 3.2 unweighted GPA behind it?
