Does Stanford go by country of permanent residence

Hello, I have a question- I have citizenship of country "A" and currently go to school in country "A". However, my family currently lives in country "B". So, I mentioned country "B" as the country of my permanent address and country "A" as temporary. Which pool shall I be considered from - place of my high school or permanent "home" address?

Your admission officer is assigned by the location of your school. Note that this is fairly unique to Stanford and only a few colleges do this(e.g. CMU).

I believe Harvard does it too.

Thank you for your responses. I am an international student. Coincidentally, the same admission officer looks after the applications from the two countries. The reason why I asked this was that country “B” is highly underrepresented in the international pool, making it less competitive. So, in my specific situation, will I be considered as a student applying from “A” or “B”
