does stanford limit the number of students...

so a few days ago i found out that another girl from my school is also seriously thinking about stanford. of course, it's possible that we could both be accepted, but what makes me wary is that both of us are asian females, and that at our school usually only one student gets accepted into stanford every fiveish years. should i be very intimidated by the fact that she's also applying if she's a strong contender? would stanford only pick one asian female student from our school in order to avoid suppressing diversity?

If your EC’s and passions are different, then you don’t have much to worry about.

^There was a case at my HS three years back where a white girl and another white girl (both in top 0.5% of the class) who were both very similar students (amazingly strong in humanities, less so in math and science but still A students in those classes) and had similar ECs (a lot of service work) were both accepted to Stanford.
