(I avoid swearing when I'm in a good mood, but swear prolifically when irritated and especially so when frustrated)

Okay, bad example, but you get the point.

Typically it's better to provide whoever's listening with more context and vivid imagery. Unless you just want to convey the fact that you're angry and nothing else. Swearing is good for that. (Or you're referring to certain sexual acts.)

Casual swearing is just annoying. It shows that you have no vocabulary and are immature in a non-fun way.

Honestly, I do swear a lot when I'm alone with my friends. Most of the time, though, we're just joking around, but it also feels good to swear when one of us is really upset.

If I'm around adults or in public period, I never swear. I just think it's inappropriate in public. A mumbled "Sh-t!" is okay if someone, say, drops all the papers they were carrying or walks into a wall, but I think that swearing in public makes the person look rude and obnoxious.

It's a dirty cycle, sometimes:
Lady approaches w/ kids
Lady: Good morning, Person 1! How has your day been?
Person 1: Good morning, Lady! It's been sucking lots of ass so far.
Person 2: nudges There are kids around!
Person 1: ****!
Person 2: There you go again!
