I'm really interested in possibly attending Syracuse, but I cannot financially afford it. How is aid really distributed there and who are the ones that get it? Do most Syracuse students graduate with a lot of debt?

It depends. From what I’ve seen, lower-middle class families tend to get the most aid (read: almost all) with middle/middle-upper getting moderate to no aid. Honestly, it’s completely dependent upon your family’s income.

That’s not to say, however, that you shouldn’t apply at this stage. You never know, sometimes they might throw a merit scholarship your way, which could pay for a large majority of your education.

I have friends graduating with about 40k in debt. Personally, I’ll have about 20-30k, I think. The amount’ll vary from person to person, but from what I’ve seen, it tends to hover around the 40-50k mark.
