I got this email from UCI telling me to submit proof of my citizenship. Does this mean i'm likely in considering that they're asking for missing financial aid info??

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships would like to alert you to new information regarding your 2013-14 financial aid application.

WE MAY NEED ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS or information to complete the review of your financial aid application. You must log into your financial aid file on our website to view documents that have been received and the status of your application:

-- Once logged in, select "My Aid Application Status" under the 2013-14 section.

Please make sure that you view this information as soon as possible. FAILURE TO SUBMIT REQUIRED DOCUMENTS BY THE DEADLINE INDICATED WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS OF PRIORITY FUNDS, INCLUDING SOME GRANTS, LOANS AND WORK-STUDY.

I received an email from UCSD asking me to verify and explain my one year academic gap. I doubt it means I’m in. My GPA is mediocre for UCSD and I literally have none of the prerequisites completed.

I just got one from Berkeley asking for an unofficial transcript from one of my schools. I wonder why they are asking this, the manually inputted grades is exactly like an unofficial transcript…

I got an email from UCLA asking me to submit a copy of my transcripts online. The email says that the information I send can be shared with the other UCs.

They are asking for this because, on the Transfer Academic Update, I listed that I had done academic renewal on one class last month. Thus, my GPA has gone up.

^That’s interesting. Thanks for sharing. I was granted Academic Renewal for a class on Feb. 11th and I updated the app with that information (in the Additional Comments). I should probably expect an e-mail soon as well.

I made an account JUST for this thread, I got this email as well. I’m a freshman applicant but I’m particularly nervous about this. I took it as a good sign considering it’d be a waste of time to contact an applicant about missing aid information if they’ve rejected said applicant (and most decisions are made by late January/early February).

This is a transfer thread, so I’m not sure if what you said above is necessarily true. I also received an email like many of you and am also hoping that this is a good indication that I am in or that they have made their decision. UCs might be sending this email out to all students regardless of whether they will be admitted or not. The way I’m thinking so that it doesn’t take much effort or money to automate thousands of emails to students.
