does the typical cliche "asian american immigrant" essay work for elite schools?

I just think probably out of 40000 applicants who apply to stanford, 20000 are asian and 10000 are gonna write about their immigrant hardship? is this topic a turn off for admission officers?

I think your analysis is very astute.

i’m an immigrant and the one topic i’m mostly trying to avoid is this one. it’s seriously reallyl cliche. HOwever, if you can offer a really unique perspective or a brand new spanking way of telling it i’m sure that’ll impress the reader.
