Does this college list seem right????

Colgate is also a high reach. I’m sorry, but you really need to lower your expectations.

How are you a legacy at Bing? It can be a pretty hard school to get into these days for instate students.

Why would you apply ED to a school you don’t want to go to? You are hurting my head.

@Syoung2 Amen.

Sweetheart, find the right fit. Stop looking for prestige. You’ll have a miserable four years.

I do think both Geneseo and Binghamton are reaches…I saw a legacy here this year for Bing waitlisted so never count on that. Good Luck!!

Syoung: Colgate is a high reach even though both parents are active alumni??? I dont know about that.
Kongo: Thanks for the advice. I probably will do that.

To the OP- Yes, Colgate is a mid to high reach

Do you know what you want in a college, aside from being near a city? What is the thing that binds all the schools on your list together. Why do they make sense for you, personally?

i want nothing huge. the only reason a school would be huge is if its a safety(Indiana). I want a nice sized jewish population. I want to be in or near a big city. I would like to stay on the east coast. I want the school to have a good business program. Also, like most people, i want to go to a prestigious school.

any other thoughts??

UMiami, BU and Oxford are low reaches. I am a URM, had great EC’s, Recs, and essays and I barely got into UMiami with a 3.8W and 1880 SAT (1280 out of 1600 because Miami doesn’t look at writing); BU rejected me and I did not apply to oxford. Just a heads up, UMiami and Northeastern have been getting significantly more selective every year.

A27- I know that northeastern is getting more selective. Its probably more than a low reach. I really dont think Oxford is a low reach because my sats are a little below 50% and i live in ny. 75% of oxford is in state. im sure that will help me. This is why i think it is a high match. Also, i have about average sat for miami. Grades are on par. On the subject of BU, i could agree with you. I have switched it to a low reach.
