Does this mean I got declined?

I applied to the UofM in early November to CBS and I have not heard back yet. All of my friends have heard back except me. My stats were 27 ACT, 3.98 gpa, top 5% of class, and heavily involved in extra curricular activities. I know that my ACT score is in the bottom 25%. I applied before all of my friends but they still are hearing back before me. We all have pretty much the same stats, and they heard back from liberal arts, business, and engineering. Does this mean I got declined?

Not necessarily. You may be put on the waitlist though at some point. University of Minnesota is accepting their for sure admits and taking their time on the students where there is some issue, people they need to look further into, students in popular or impacted majors or just in order to hear back from some students declining their spots. It has been a relatively short time since you applied and you may need to wait a bit longer. Hang in there

My son applied mid September and hasn’t heard back either, even though it seems like everyone else he know has, even those with similar stats. My son’s are ACT 30, uw gpa 3.9, applied to CLA for linguistics. Starting to lose hope…

I don’t think that you can imply anything from the fact that you have not heard back. You never know what the delay is.

I think that you just have to be patient. Good luck. Hopefully your strong GPA will make up for your ACT score and you will get good news at some point.
