Does this person have a chance to get into USC? UCLA? UC Berkeley?

-4.8 (weighted 1-10) GPA
-3.9 (unweighted) GPA
-salutatorian
-comes from a great high school (very competitive)
-South Asian
-$500k income in family (probably no financial aid)
-1980 SAT
-EXTREMELY involved in extracurriculars (very interesting person, involved in helping and educating impoverished people in foreign countries, cancer research, helped AIDS patients), president of science club
-involved in an academy of arts (playing two instruments and vocals)
-varsity athlete in soccer

Would this person have a good chance at getting into USC even with a relatively low SAT score? What do you guys think, do his GPA, extracurriculars, and class rank outweigh that score?

The ECs will help a lot, but imho the sat score needs to be a lot higher. With similar GPA, I had 1 dd with act of 33 and good ecs get accepted to USC and one with a 34, more rigourous schedule, NMF, but fewer ecs get rejected. Neither got in to UCLA, didn’t apply to UCB. My son with 2130 SAT was rejected from all 3. Maybe your friend could try the ACT for a higher score if they struggle with the SAT.

So with an SAT score of say around 2100, they would have a good shot?
