Does Transferring suck?

I am going to CC as a Sophomore this year and will be transferring as soon as possible. Transferring in the middle of the year doesn't seem bad because other sophomores will still live in dorms and I can meet people but transferring at the end of the the year sounds awful because all the juniors won't live on campus and I won't meet anyone. Is this true or will it be okay?

That depends where you go. Some schools have special “transfer dorms” where you live with other transfer students. If your school does not offer this, you can still meet people via off campus housing social resources like craigslist or what have you. I believe even Facebook has a service that matches up students from a particular school who are looking for off campus housing. You could even contact the school about similar services they might offer.

Also the statement that “all juniors wont live on campus” is incorrect; at Vanderbilt University, 90% of undergraduates live on campus. Generally speaking, there are always juniors living on campus for one reason or another.

Either way, housing is not the only way people meet in college; in fact my friends who went off to college right away predominately disliked their room mates.
