I read through the transfer admission profile of each UC campus and found out that 94-95% of admitted transfer applicants are from the community colleges.
It is a terrible news for me because I am an international transfer applicant.
Does this profile means that I will have little chance only because I am not a CC student, despite decent GPA and experience?
You have little chance of admission and no chance whatsoever for any financial aid.
Its not impossible, its just significantly less likely.
And as stated, you do no receive aid
Yes, preference goes to California community college students. The UC’s were built and made for California residents and are supported by state taxpayers.
No financial aid at the UC’s for international students.
The lowest on the rung are international students applying direct from an international school. The admit rate is about 5% (off the top of my head) - slightly variable by campus.
The majority of int’ls are transferring from a CCC.
Thank you everyone for answering me the questions. It is frustrating but I decide to have a try anyway.
BTW, do you have any suggestions on universities for international applicants?
Thank you!
I met a transfer student from Sweden last week, it can be done!
I suggest looking at some private schools.
