I am currently a CCC student and I'm planning on transfering to UCLA next year, a non-science major but working on requirements for pre-health. I notice UCLA only offers calculus-based physics, and all I really need is algebra based physics. If I do attend UCLA next year, *does UCLA allow you to take a class simultaneously at a nearby CCC during the regular school year? * I keep hearing different things.

It wouldn't be for my major by any means, and besides, UC Davis Vet School allows you to finish algebra based physics at a community college.

By any means, I CAN take calculus based physics at UCLA but it would really unnecessary in my case, and mess up my time because I would need to take calculus first, THEN go onto calculus based physics.

I understand this would be during fall, winter, or spring quartes, but I'm curious as to whether lower division-UC transferable classes can be taken for credit at a CCC during summer for credit at UCLA?

i believe after you transfer, you can't take classes at a CC even during the summer. something about max units transferring, check w/ a UCLA counselor.

btw, taking your science prereqs at a community college is looked down on. in fact many med schools don't even look at those courses so you will run into a mountain of trouble. Id say, just take the calc-based one.

I'll definitely look into that UCLAri, thanks!
Thanks for the input too bruinboy I'll definitely look into it more before I come to my final decision. I know UC Davis Vet school doesn't care if you take your science pre-reqs at a CC but I am not sure about other schools.

Just curious, what's the closest CC to UCLA? Isn't West LA College the closest? Or SMC?
