Does UCLA save spots for transfer students?

Hello. I know this has been asked in previous years, but I was wondering if past UCLA transfers would mind explaining if UCLA reserves seats for incoming transfers? Specifically in English classes? I've received conflicting information on this issue. Some say that they do hold spots. Others claim that they don't. Does anyone have a definitive answer?

Almost all English courses are full, and those that aren't don't have very many spaces left. I'm just really worried about getting classes. I've accepted that I will not get the classes I really wanted, but at this point I'm worried about not getting any English classes at all.

I think there has been enough improvement in the budget situation for California public universities over the past year that it is very likely that this year they will be able to open more new sections in high demand classes than they were in previous years.

They save classes for those that attend the orientation. If you do not attend the orientation you do not get access to the reserved spots.

Okay, thank you both! Here’s hoping it all works out.
