does UCSD student waiver health insurance need to buy RAFT ?

<p>RAFT is optional My son was able to waive SHIP last year, but since our doctors are still a couple of hours away, we spent the $50/quarter for RAFT so that he would have options to seek care on campus for minor illnesses. He ended up not using it at all. This year, UCSD tightened their requirements to waive SHIP so we have to purchase it. Last year I figured $50/quarter was worth it to have immediate care if needed.</p>
