Does undergrad matter in grad-school apps. W&M vs. anything else.

I am split between William and Mary and Wake Forest, as of now. My other options are UVa, Michigan, VaTech-honors and GaTech, where I have yet to visit.

I am somewhat indifferent between W&M and Wake, although price may be a factor(VA resident, although parents are willing to foot most of the bill). My father points out that getting into grad school might be easier from Wake, because it has higher departmental prestige(economics, and everything else), the exception being the law-school, which I am considering.
Of course, if I end up liking UVa, then that will simplify this decision a lot.

Summary: does choosing W&M over Wake or UVa hurt me applying to grad-school.

here is a song on youtube that has nothing to do with college apps(keeping things light hearted : )

William & Mary, Wake and Virginia are not that much different academically for undergraduate school.

go to the one you really feel comfortable in, provided the finances are even…

It’s not going to matter. Really enormous differences in prestige matter–not because of the prestige per se, but insofar as prestige tends to be correlated with student quality/preparation. But W&M, UVA, and Wake are academically more or less on a par. They are all excellent institutions, and if you do well at any of them you can go on to any graduate school in the nation. Since price is a factor, W&M and UVA are likely to be your best bets since you are instate.
