<p>Hey guys,
If you haven't realized by know UVA is my dream and I would basically do anything to get in. I read on the forums that some colleges were sending rejections letters that told the students that if they would wait a semester or two the school would except them. Does UVA do this? I'm OOS so my chances getting in first time around are slim but I would DEFININTELY be willing to wait a couple of semesters if the school assured me I would be admited.

<p>There’s no way UVA does that, they have the guaranteed acceptance from community colleges to worry about. That’s a better route for you if you couldn’t possibly stand to go to another school, move to VA and do community college for 2 years and then you can transfer under the guaranteed program. But I think other colleges will offer you more than that. I say that as a girl whose first choice was also UVA since I was very little, but when I was deferred I realized college is what you make of it and any college can be the experience of your dreams. I’m still glad I got in, but if I hadn’t, I would have had a great time at another college. I would not have done 2 years at a community college or waited a semester or two to reapply.</p>

You sound like an energized, lovely young person. You are excited to start the next chapter of your life with a very specific goal in mind. That is awesome! You remind me very much of my niece four years ago.</p>
<p>Respectfully, I would like to briefly tell you about her journey. She was an honors student from a specialty HS. Sports, EC’s, specialty diploma in fine arts, community svc, grades… she had ‘the package’. She applied to her dream school, the only one she could see herself at. Her best friend of 7 years was accepted. The admissions staff, for one reason or another didn’t feel it was the right fit for her and declined her application. She was heartbroken.</p>
<p>She picked herself up and went out of state to a large school where she didn’t know a soul. She made a wonderful life for herself. She changed majors and ended up in her dream career, fashion design, interning in the summers in LA with BCBG. She would not have been able to do that at the original school. She graduates this month. She has offers for jobs from BCBG, along with fashion houses in London and Paris. A dream come true! She knew by her second semester that the school she had chosen was the right one for her.</p>
<p>I am in no way saying that UVa isn’t the right one for you, I am offering the fact that if it isn’t, there is an awesome school for you with unbelievalbe opportunities, where you will grow and learn in ways you could never have imagined. You simply have to open yourself up to it.</p>
