Does UW save spots for appeal-ers?

Does UW wait for peiple to confirm their spot on the waitlist or for people to send in their “I Accept” forms in the welcome packets in order to decide how many appeals they can accept? I was thinking… How are they supposed to know how much room they have left BEFORE may 1st? Seems confusing…

or has anyone else’s appeal been recieved by the admissions office yet?

I’m sure they reserve spots specifically for appeals. After all, some appeals get accepted before the May 1st deadline, so this implies that they must have already accounted for how many appeals they can accept-- Just guessing though, haha. Also, my appeal has been received.

@Wazowski‌ I was thinking the same thing but it’s so hard to tell with UW’s tendency to be randomn lol. And mine was recieved about a week ago, still no news.

Hi guys! Once you mailed in your appeal do they email you? or how do you know they have received it?

@uwhusky1997 That’s true, haha. I hope it doesn’t take a whole 4 weeks! If you get yours anytime soon, it’d be real nice to hear how your appeal went!

@worrybug I didn’t receive a confirmation email-- but if you check your application on your MyUW page it will say, “We received your petition requesting special consideration. We will inform you by postal mail when a decision is made.”

I’ll keep sure to tell everyone the results (good or bad) Lol

Good luck to you guys too!
