I was just wondering which one William and Mary favored.

I went on Collegeboard and saw that a very small percentage submitted ACTs over SATs and got me thinking that W&M prefers SATs but I"m not sure.

Thanks

Short answer: No.

Long answer: “William & Mary requires either the SAT or the ACT exam for all freshmen applicants. There is no preference among the admission committee for one exam over the other, and if both SAT and ACT scores are submitted with an application we will use the exam that best reflects you as an applicant when conducting our evaluation.”

No preference between SAT and ACT. W&M does evaluate the best score only so if you take the SAT multiple times, the best individual components are combined for the best SAT composite score. If you submit both SAT and ACT scores, the Committee reviews only whichever composite is highest.
