Does WashU give any credit for AP Spanish? Also, question about AP Psych credit?

For other languages, it seems that though WashU does not use AP tests for placement, it does grant credit for certain AP scores once students have taken a 300 level course of the language and received a B in the class (https://college.artsci.wustl.edu/policies/placement_credit/ap). However, all the website says about Spanish is that the AP score is not considered in placement, only the placement exam is. It does not mention credits at all, unlike the other languages. AP Spanish is also not listed on the Collegeboard website for WashU.

Does anyone know anything about this? I am taking the AP Spanish Language and Culture Exam on Tuesday and just want to know if it even counts for anything beforehand.

Also, on both the WashU website and Collegeboard website, it says that though no credits are given for AP Psych, a score of a 5 waives the Intro Psych requirement. Does this mean that you can take upper level Psych classes (Abnormal Psych) right away without taking Intro Psych, or just that you do not need to take Intro Psych if you are required to take it for your major (but you still have to take it before taking classes like Abnormal Psych?

Thank you!

Can’t answer the Spanish question, but might be able to help with the Psych q.

The short answer is that if you have a 5, you never need to take it prior to 300-levels. So you essentially get credit for Psych 100b… but it’s “0” credits. If that makes sense.

What major are you thinking about that requires Psych 100b? I know that for psych majors, their guidebook explicitly states that if you’ve got a 5 you’re waived from the requirement entirely. I’d assume this is also the case for non-psych majors that require psych 100b, but I don’t actually know what majors require it.

I took 100b & a handful of 300-level psych classes way back when, because when I entered washu, there was no waiver for any ap score (i think they implemented it in 2010 or 2011, and I took 100b in Fall '09. With that in mind, I’ll also add on that if you know psych well enough to get a 5, don’t fear skipping 100b. Quite frankly it was a serious waste of time for me and I wish I had been allowed to skip it.
