I bet this kid plays starcraft and/or skyrim. not that there’s anything wrong with that. just a hunch.

^ Elaborate on your hunch.

As a female, here’s what my process would be if I saw a guy coming to class constantly in a suit.
“Oh, wonder what he’s dressed up for. Maybe he has something important going on later today.”
“A suit today as well? Hmm… that’s a little weird.”
“Another suit??? Okay, he’s just full of himself. Does he think he’s all that or something? Whose he out to impress? The professor? Suck up.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But anyway, it’s not about what others think of you, it’s what you want to wear and feel comfortable in.
I love formal fashion and own suits by Prada, Gucci, Armani, and more but I can’t imagine wearing them to class.
I had an interview once and wore a suit in the morning then dropped by the my evening class and it felt pretty weird looking like a GQ model (FORGIVE MY MODESTY) surrounded by your standard hippie college guys in hoodies and moldy sneakers. I couldn’t really focus.
Fwiw, my honest first thought would be something along the lines of “Hm… I wonder how many bags of dog food that could have bought at the local shelter.” or “Hm… I wonder how many meals that could buy at our shelter.”
Because that’s just the way I think.
What if you found out that the student wearing suits everyday is interning at a place where a white shirt and a tie is required, has a small sum in the stock market, and also runs a limited liability company on the side?
I’d run…
I would care just as much as I would have originally… so not at all. Wear what you want to wear, an outfit is not going to get your women or respect. But your personality might, so should work on that.
I am HOLLERING.
Don’t do that to yourself. You wanna be comfortable in class. Maybe in the 1920’s you’d get away with it. Now you will be looked at as trying to hard. It’s not worth it.
You can get away with a blazer with a tie for a classroom setting.
Anything more formal, and well. . .
My ■■■■■ senses are tingling, however. . .
I also wear a suit to class (100% wool only, polyester is flammable) and I thoroughly enjoy it.
OP, it’s not the suit that your classmates are going to find off-putting, it’s more likely going to be your attitude. Which they will find off-putting whether you are wearing a suit or moldy ripped up jeans.
Why would a teen have 10 off brand Italian suits:
Fat.
Needs suspenders can’t find big enough belt.
Super religious.
Need suit for daily church.
Mortician.
Wear suits for work.
Wise guy.
Wears suits for work.
Insecure guy.
Needs suits to give self confidence and “uniqueness”
My daughter has a guy in her classes who wears a suit every single day. In fact, they call him ‘suit’, that’s his nickname. No matter how hot it is, no matter how sweaty he is, he’s always in his suit and tie.
I don’t think he gets girls this way.
Everyone likes wearing something that makes them feel confident. For some folks it’s brightly colored casual clothing. For others it’s professional wear like suits. I know I feel like a damn champion when I wear a suit, but I don’t wear one every day (hell I rarely wear one at all) because it’d just stand out too much.
When I went to Western Washington University back in the late 80’s and early 90’s, I wanted to do better than my first college career. I was going to be a music major, so I had a ‘secret weapon’ at my disposal. Namely the tuxedo I wore for choir. After music and I departed ways because of theory, I noticed the tux taking up space and so I decided one day when a test was to be given, I would wear the tux, complete with bow and cummerbund as well as a very stiffly starched tux shirt. It started a whole other thing for me. The test I wore it for netted me an A (of course studying helped!) but I figured hey, why not wear it on a daily basis? All that i had to do was get a few more tuxedo shirts and I already had a thing going with my local formal dealer for bow ties and cummerbunds. So it was easy to adopt. Yes, I got some strange looks the first day, but soon I became the best dressed guy in the dorm and on campus and it really was no different from all the other dressing I did. Same amount of time, only nicer. One guy one night asked if my parents owned a tux store (oh how I wish that had been the case!) . To this day, I cannot stand casual clothing unless it’s private or I am in a situation where the tux or suit would be overkill.
I say that if you want to dress up for classes, by all means dose. And don’t be afraid of wearing bow ties either as well as a tuxedo if you own or will be getting one. You will be so much better prepared for work situations by doing this it won’t be funny. Good luck and go get 'em!
Can you wear like a polo and some nice jeans?
feel better
If you feel better, then by all means wear it. Personally, I think wearing a suit everyday sounds horrid, but to each their own.
look better
If you think you look better then, again, by all means wear it. Not everyone will agree.
attract more girls
I wouldn’t necessarily count on that. There are plenty of girls that are going to look at you and think “why the hell is that dude wearing a nerdy looking suit with suspenders every day?”
don’t know when you’re going to meet your next employer
That’s true, but the overwhelming odds are that you are not going to meet your next employer during a college lecture. You’re also not going to be taken more seriously by said next employer as a result of wearing a suit. They’re aware of the fact that college students are people who wear casual clothing. Dressing nice is one thing…but wearing a suit every day looks pretentious.
teacher pays you more respect
I know very few professors who actually wear suits every day. I wouldn’t count on getting more respect from the professor due to wearing a suit.
Again…do what makes you feel comfortable. But wearing a suit every day is going to make you look weird and pretentious in the eyes of most people, and is completely unnecessary.
Is this a ■■■■■ post? Probably.
Strongly recommend you wear a suit everyday. I would if I could. The ladies will be chasing after you.
