Doing worse your second time...

So, my first SAT in December I got a 2080 (750 CR, 690 M, and 640 W), but, on the May SAT I got a 2020 (730 CR, 640 M, and 650 W)... So... My super score is a 2090 (750 CR, 690 M, and 650 W)... I am planning on applying to engineering schools at schools like The University of Texas, Georgia Tech, Rice (ED possibly), and Vanderbilt (#1 choice at moment, ED)... My SAT scores are in the middle 50% at all of these schools except Rice, so that's not exactly what I am worried about. However, I am more worried about the fact that I went down... If I pull a 790 or 800 on Math II, would that mitigate some of that harm? I really, really, really do not want to take the SAT again... Although, depending on my SAT II results, I might consider the September ACT.

Nope, send in both of your scores-schools usually only look at the Super Scores. Some even say that they have programs that only show them the Super Scores-so they won’t know you did worse! Also, they don’t know what you were doing the night before you took the SATs a second time-it could have been the worst night of your life-I’ve never heard of a school looking down on somebody b/c their scores went down the 2nd time.

Also-you can check to see if they don’t superscore by talking to your guidance adviser/admissions officer (but most do)
