Freshman year I took all honors classes and got all A's and one B+. I did just as fine the first quarter of sophmore year. But then something happened that was completely out of my control (that my guidance counselor can back up) that caused me to miss alot of school causing my grades to drop to D's and F's. To this day I am having trouble bringing my grades up (I am in the middle of junoir year) and I am starting to fear that college will no longer be an option, as I am now going to have trouble even graduating high school. I know that I am smart and I find endless joy in learning, but how will I be able convince colleges that I can be successful when my grades say otherwise?

a lot of colleges take extenuating circumstances into consideration. also, if you're smart, good scores on standardized tests will help out a lot. and, if you can get the grades back up to their regular level soon, it may not be as big a deal as you think.

college is certainly still an option for you. good luck!
