I don't want to sound stupid but I'm sort of confused about the CAS essay prompt, what kind of "work of science" are we supposed to talk about? Does it mean how an invention or scientific breakthrough has affected us or how an ordinary every day (science related) phenomenon has "unsettled" us or what?

I'm actually putting the finishing touches on some blog entries about this.

Nicely put, Dean J!
I love your blog and relied on it often this past year. I thank you again.

floridastudent~ this may or may not help you, but before my child got into UVA OOS, her high school guidance counselor was lucky enough to get a quick interview there with admissions. ( i never knew guidance counselors did this!) so he had time for one question..."what can you say about the essay? what are you looking for?" they simply said, " do what the NIKE commercial says..'just DO it!' " he took that to mean hit hard and fast and be brief, but get your point across. for what it's worth, that's what my d. did, and it was successful!

thank you for that link Dean J. =)
and thanks for the advice happycollegemom
