as I was just finishing my common application, I realized that it was somewhere stated that you should use black ink to fill out your forms - don't tell me I have to do it again!

Yes, this question might seem silly - but why take chances?

I filled it out with my family's "magic pen" - this one has been passed on from my great-grandpa, to my grandpa, from my grandpa to my dad, and from my dad to me - I just had to fill out my application with that pen... and, by the way, it writes in blue.

The reason that the applications state use black ink is because some shades of blue ink are hard to read or do not pick up once the application is copied/ scanned. If your ink is a dark blue you should be ok

Another quick question - teachers who write an evaluation for me should receive a stamped envelope with the school's address on it, correct ? Their own address and return address should be filled out by the teacher themselves, right?

The easiest thing to do is to give them a stamped enveloped addressed to the colleges and to leave the return address blank. The teacher will then make the choice as to how to fill in the return address. some may end up using the school's stamp to stamp on the return address, some may write it in by hand and others may end up using their own address. Leave the choice up to them
