Don't you guys wish

that the ACT reading section time limit was extended to 40 minutes, giving at LEAST 10 minutes per passage?

Yes, i felt rushed throughout the ACT reading and science. Mainly because they didnt give you the 1minute:1question ratio usually given by tests.

I agree
they should also apply it to science

i mean, give us at least 2 minutes to read the passages at least :[

ACT seriously has time issues. They need to give the students more time.

I liked doing one subject all at once, as opposed to dividing them up into several mini-sections ala SAT. But I thought that the timing for Science and Reading was ridiculous. I am a fast reader, and I had to rush/skim through Science just to get to the end in time.

You aren’t supposed to read it. They want you to skim.

Well maybe they should change the Reading Section to “Skimming Section”

I do wish.

yea, time was definitely an issue
=(

I used to like the ACT A LOT MORE than the SAT but these time issues the last 3 times I’ve taken it are starting to make me like the SAT more

I finsihed a minute or two early on the reading, but i thought the science was absolutely killer. there was like 2 and half minutes left, and I had ten questions (i managed to beast out 6, filled in the other 4)

I definitely agree with science. I’ve always had to completely guess on the very last article due to running out of time. 5 more minutes would help tremendously.
Reading I seem to get slower every time for some reason…my first time taking the ACT, I finished it with time left over and got my best score ever on it. Now, I seem to only have about 3 minutes to read and do the questions for the last passage and I end up having to guess. Reading I could understand leaving the same, but science definitely needs more time.

I agree with the reading section, I put random answers at the end for the Eel passage. I never actually even read the entire passage, I just read the question and looked quickly through the passage to find the answer. If they gave us another 5 minutes, it would really help, same with science too. English and math are fine, I finished both with time to spare, but the ACT might want to rethink the allotted times given to Reading and Science.

Yeah its bs , that the reading section has 35 mins. ACT should really fixed it up and reform it.

English: 60 mins for it
Math: 65-70 min
Reading: 45 mins
Science 45 mins.

^ That would make it way to easy for people to get 30’s and above. The ACT is designed so that if you get a 30+ you earned that 30 and you deserve to be at a school of the upper echelon.

English and Math time limits are fine.
However, I do believe Science and Reading should be extended by five minutes.

I agree wismadison2010, I’ve read and heard many people say that they could easily get a 30+ on the ACT if they had like 10 minutes more on each section. The ACT really isn’t that hard, it’s just the time limit that makes it a little difficult. I do hope the ACT does consider extending Science and Reading by another five minutes.

i agree with redsox2002, i know i could solve those math problems if i had more time
i don’t think its cool that the test has to be timed, i could have had a better score my first time, timing makes me nervous and i don’t know what i’am doing. I think they should had 15 mins to each test, especially the math and science test

i mean, i understand why the tests are timed, but the reading section, or the “skimming section,” is just… gah.
