Son was assigned to his first choice, Sewell. It was announced in his portal this afternoon.
When did your son apply? My daughter applied March 18th and did not receive any of her choices. She is in Williams which is off campus and we are all extremely upset.
He applied the first day that the housing applications were allowed. Edit: I went back and looked, it was Feb 4th. His friend/roommate applied the same day and and got Sewell as well.

@kcos4680 Williams Village is much nicer and quieter than anything on he main campus. The best food is at Williams Village as well, as the newer and less crowded recreation center and a health center. Its exactly one mile away, and walkable. Its not really “off campus”, as its so close in.
AT U of Michigan, the two campuses are 3.5 miles or more apart. So really U of Colorado offers a much better setup compared to almost all large state schools, for housing. Also, Williams Village has upper class suites so your daughter can live there all four years.
If she had gotten into a classic freshman dorm, she would be booted off campus, or to Williams Village for year two anyway, so why not just live in Williams Village all four years? Many in state kids tend to live at Williams and not move off campus, so young. Out of state kids don’t know the system here, so they seem to believe its better to be near the noisy football stadium, but quite is much better.
Williams Village is furnished nine month living. The second she moves into Boulder, its landlords, buy a bed and desk
and moving constantly to keep up, and staying the summer in Boulder or subletting, and all that entails. Its much much better to choose Williams Village ON PURPOSE. Your daughter is the lucky one.
I was just at the admitted students day and toured Williams Village. IMO, its nothing to be upset about. Easy bike ride or quick bus to main campus. It is a village with lots of students and its own (very nice) dining hall and fields/lawns area. Williams Village North is brand spanking new and very nice.
We were at ASD this past weekend. We only toured a couple of dorms - Engineering Quad and Global Engineering RAP. Since my S hasn’t committed yet, so who knows where the heck he’ll end up. I hate that they start the housing process so early.
“I hate that they start the housing process so early.”
Yeah, I get that. As a parent of a student that knew exactly what he wanted for the past few years, I’m glad that he was rewarded by being an EA admit and signing up on the first day available for housing. No way to make us all happy.
Correction:
Williams Village EAST is the newest Dorm!
what were her 6 choices?
Any idea when they will send out assignments for the second group? They said it is on a rolling basis, but would only say by 5/31
I lived in an apt on the Williams Village side of 28th, but maybe a half miles closer to campus. I always walked or biked (no option of the Willie Villie buses). It’s an easy walk, and ALL my classes were on the other side of campus. If you are in engineering or business, it might be easier to walk than to take the buses anyway.
Very few CU students live on campus after freshman year, including Williams Village.
Congratulations to you S, @knightcub! Sewall is a great dorm!
