Dorm choices

I'm trying to decide which dorm to choose for next year, does anyone have any suggestion/experience? I've only been in jester, and I know for sure I don't want to end up there.

I think San Jacinto and Duren are the best

*from what I’ve read on CC, not from personal experience

Still depends on what you are going for. After touring San Jac I can tell you it is basically like a hotel, really clean, very nice facilities. The only problem that I have learned is that, once again, it is basically like a hotel. If you want an atmosphere that is not anti-social, don’t go to San Jac. Apparently the dorm as a whole is a lot more anti-social, partially driven by lack of interaction in the hallways (b/c of the private dorms). Apparently their largest event was an anti-drug program that 40 people showed up to.

Duren is nice, but it is way over on the other side of campus, keep that in mind. A lot of student focus is around Jester, and the surrounding dorms. That is the main reason I didn’t choose it. I wanted to be closer to Jester’s eating facilities, the stadium, the FEC, Gregory Gym, the new Student Center, etc etc.

But then again I am no help to most people because I chose Jester W, then Jester E as my top 2 choices.

AltexPape, are you living in Jester now? Do you like it? Can you describe the overall experience you’ve had living in Jester and the atmosphere in the dorm?
