Dorm Life

ok so i know that you should have your stuff in by may 1 to have your best shot at your choices...but is there any advantage of getting it in by like..april 10 over april 20..earlier within april...or are they all done in the same lotter at the same time

They're renaming Hamilton for Rodin?

to ask another question along with my previous one...everyone keeps talking about quad and hill...what about kings court english...that has a high fresh population as well....could that be better than hill possibly...how are the rooms and atomosphere and sociality there

What about SEAS students? Are SEAS students better off at Hill? Will dorming in the Quad cause a problem (dsitance and what not)?

Quad is 2-3 blocks from SEAS. NO big deal to walk at all.

It isn't a big deal but a lot of engineers I know who live in the Quad don't really like it all that much -- it's a lot more convenient to live in Hill if you're practically living at the DRL building.

so lets say i want to maybe live in the highrise and have people i live with but my OWN room..suite style im guessing? how do i designate that on my app? thanks

1.King's Court is great if all you care about is a large room, other than that its not as social as hill or the quad. It's basically hiding and out of the way. You would never know it was a dorm if you went by it.

Usually freshman rooms in the highrises have 3 Bedrooms and 4 students meaning 2 will have to share, the other freshmen apartments are 1 br, 2 student. Here are the floor plans for Harnwell - Take special note to the apartments reserved for freshmen: http://harnwell.house.upenn.edu/housing/floor_layout.pdf

collegecountdown.. delete some msgs from ur inbox. i cant send u a PM :P

I lived in Stouffer Mayer for two years and I loved it. The rooms are huge and it's so nice to have your own kitchen and bathroom (although you do have to clean it). Freshmen in Mayer have 3 to a room, but upperclassmen only 2. I think there is plenty of room for all 3.

Socially, it's not the best, but if you have friends outside of your dorm, you can still maintain a great social life.
