Dorm/ RAP Question

I am committed to UMass now. I am a marketing major accepted into the Isenberg School. I am starting to consider dorms and RAPs now. I want to live in southwest mainly because of the "college" atmosphere and diversity. I also was considering joining the Isenberg Fellows RAP. I guess my real question is, is southwest partying and fun limited to to the highrises, because the dorm that isenberg fellows stay in is Melville( A lowrise). Can I still have tons of fun and party in the lowrise, or be filled in on the partying in the highrises?

Your first priority should be what makes the most sense for your academic career. Having said that, you can have fun anywhere. What I found is that your floor really determines how things go.

Does anyone have any feedback on the Isenberg Fellows RAP? People in it? Activities? Classes?

I understand that academics come first, but I am taking the basically the same classes regardless.
I just want to know if the lowrises in southwest have some fun like the highrises do…

Reider, I am a dad of two college students (one at UMass who didn’t want any part of Southwest). Also, I when I went to college I lived in a variety of dorms and visited friends at other colleges in different types of dorms and I had fun in all of them. That is why I answered as I did.

Reider, congratulations on your acceptance to UMass/Isenberg! My S just completed his degree in Sport Management and loved his experience from beginning to end. He spent his freshman year in Melville as an Isenberg Fellow. He loved it! His floor was close-knit. He enjoyed the classes that he took with his fellows. Upon reflection, there was more fun and games his freshman year with the fellows than his sophomore year in the lowrise next door (Prince). I hope this helps!

My S is a freshman in a low rise. Having plenty of fun in his dorm and other friends dorms. He likes Southwest and seems to be managing the workload ok.

does anyone know when the raps are being released? both regular and honors?

“does anyone know when the raps are being released?”

The website says shortly…which I have found in UMass speak means in time to be able to make an intelligent decision. My son was in a RAP last year. You sign up in the middle of May but you will have plenty of time to figure out what you want to do.
