We can't totally remember the layout of the Loro dorms (assuming D is in Loro, she requested sub free), and can't find very good pics to help out.

Is there one closet to be shared by two students? Is it a swing door or sliding door (for over the door storage options)? We are planning on purchasing a closet doubler, but wonder if there is already one there? Also, if we need to supply, I suppose this item should be coordinated with roommate? Is there a light in the closet?

Are the walls painted cinder block (for 3M command hooks)?

If the beds are turned upside down, allowing for more storage under the beds, what is the measurement of the space underneath?

What exactly needs to be stored? Assuming clothing will be stored in the closet and dresser drawers (or more realistically, the floor:) ), what do we need to be prepared to store? I can think of a few things such as bath towels, toiletries, laundry detergent, basic utensils.

Is there room for a very small easy chair (or 2), or at least a comfortable arm chair? Is this type of seating necessary?

Did I miss anything? We will need to plan a trip to The Container Store. Since it's about 45 minutes away from us, it would be nice to get everything in one trip.

Each girl has their own closet, with a door that is just like a normal door and swings out. There is also a compartment above the closet that has a swing out door as well.

I wasn’t sure what a closet doubler is, so I googled it. No, there isn’t one already there, and you wouldn’t have to coordinate it with your roommate because you have your own closet. And there is no light in the closet.

The walls in Loro are regular walls, not cinder block.

There are a lot of different beds in Loro - me and my roommate even have different beds. Some can be turned upside down and some cannot. So there is no official dimension. You can always raise your bed on cinderblocks until it’s as high as you need.

I’m unsure about the “what do we need to store” question… do you mean what does your daughter need to bring? If so, there are threads on the main sections of CC with comprehensive lists of what to bring to school with you… way too many things to list here. I forget which forum in particular but I know it’s stickied at the top of the page. It was very helpful to me last year.

There isn’t room for an easy chair, especially not 2, but you don’t really need them.

And also, there are multiple pictures of Loro rooms on the Class of 2013 facebook group, so I would encourage your daughter to join.
