Can anyone give me some ideas about what would be esp. good to have in a Trinity frosh dorm room? Is there carpeting or should I bring a rug? Do I need extra long twin sheets? is the laundry service worthwhile, or better to just use machines myself? How about lighting? Are the dorms chilly in winter? Any suggestions appreciated!

I don’t think any of the freshmen dorms are carpeted with rugs. Many do without a rug, but you can bring one. extra long twin sheets, yea. I’ve never used the laundry service so I can’t comment on that. The machines in the basement have done the job for me. Lighting is sufficient so a table lamp might be redundant, but many people prefer having one. The environmental groups on campus would rather you bring an efficient halogen lamp if you do decide to bring one. Dorms are nice and warm during the winter as they should be in connecticut. But none of the frosh dorms have air conditioning so summer months can get hot!
