Dorming at SD

How difficult is it for a freshman to get an apartment style residential hall at UCSD? What types of dorms are there at UCSD?

it's not that difficult, though the apartments aren't all that great here, the only plus is that you get your own kitchen.

there are 6 dorms.
the newest is the eleanor roosevelt dorms, closest to rimac, but furthest away to everything else.
the oldest is revelle and has major problems
muir's dorms look like they are prison cells but they are the roomiest in my opinion. plus they have the most floors
sixth is out in the BOONIES. IN NO WHERE. we call it camp snoopey, that's how out in the woods it is
warren is closest to price center and it's alright
marshalls is alright too.

muir's dorms are definitely not the roomiest. they look and feel like prison cells because they are so cramped. sixth may be out in a corner of campus, but the inside of the dorms are nice. the sixth apartments are nicer than the dorms, and it isn't too difficult to get into those. these apartments are right next to the apartments for revelle.
