@chiefta— last year D decided on USC after the admitted student day (late April?) and filled out the housing form then. She was a P scholar and requested and got Birnkrant. Hasn’t heard of anyone who wanted B and didn’t get it as a T or P scholar. Fill it out asap though.

Also - anyone know how healthy the food is on campus? From what I’m reading it sounds like they put dressing and oil and food, which definitely doesn’t appeal to me. I’m a really healthy (vegetarian) eater, and I wanted to know if anyone knows anything (aside from what USC publicly states) about the food they provide (especially for the freshamn meal plan - so the EVK and Parkside restaurants).

At Explore this week, we were informed that a third option for dining will be available this fall. I believe its called Cafe 84. The option is suppose to be a healthy alternative, including vegetarian meals.

The EVK and Parkside menus can be found here…

Can someone explain exactly how the bathrooms, washers and dryers work?

I know at some colleges, they have a card swipe for washers, and they text you when a washer is available for you specifically (Bucknell has a great system). Do you need quarters? Also, how many people use a bathroom per floor in each freshman dorm?

Does anyone know of mold issues? Do they have people who clean the rooms once a week and if so, how well do they clean and do you tip them?

I heard birkhrant is only for honors /scholarship students, so is there no point in me putting it as my number 1 choice in my housing app?

Bathrooms depend on the building, communal style bathrooms for the floor in traditional dorm style and single/double bathrooms for apartment/suite style for the people living in that apartment/suite only.

For washers/dryers, for some buildings you can use your USCard to pay using discretionary funds and some have a separate card that you can add money to.

I have never seen or heard of any mold issues in USC housing and if there was any, they would take care of it immediately. The communal bathrooms are cleaned everyday (maybe even twice a day), apartment ones are on your own, and for suite style, I think they come once a week?, I forget, its been awhile. They clean the shower, sink, toilet, floor and vacuum the common area carpet.

I believe the suite bathrooms are really cleaned one a week, and then have minor cleanings a couple of times a week.

This may have already been asked but for upperclassmen what is the best or most liked campus housing option?

also, as a transfer student, I am transferring in after my first community college years, but my standing is a freshman i believe. Does that mean I apply for upperclassmen housing either way or freshmen?
