So i was looking through the housing schedule :

http://housing.ucr.edu/NR/rdonlyres/A422C5D2-6F84-4E8F-B1FA-7330195AB11F/0/PaymentScheduleRH1011.pdf

and i'm quite confused about what blue 75, gold 100, and tartan 150 mean.

I know they have to do something with the meal plan..
what i don't get is how much dining dollars do i get? tartan makes the dorm cost more expensive... what's the difference?

Also, i don't get the difference between the Flex and dinning dollars.

I know for different Flexes, there i a different amount of money that i can spend. What about dining dollars? Is there a limitation of where i can spend the money?

… i dont know what that blue, gold, and tartan stuff is.

flex 5 = 5 meals a week (no rollover), 600 dining dollars
flex 10 = 10 meals a week (no rollover), 450 dining dollars
flex max = $3450 to use at dining halls and everywhere else

you get to spend the dining dollars at any restaurant on campus and at dining halls, incase you ever run out of meals.

is there anyone i can get a hold of so i can ask about the differences? I want to send in my housing application asap on april 1st, but the thing is i want to know the exact difference in the first place. should i just call the office??

yeah, call the office. best thing to do.

I think they changed the meal plans for this year… I haven’t seen any information on the flex meal plans. Only the Blue/Gold/Tartan.

*Here’s where I found my info: http://dining.ucr.edu/DiningPlanOptions/ -> Dining Plans for 2010 - 2011

Oh hm. I didn’t see that earlier ):

… Well, school is 10 weeks each quarter… so you’re getting

blue: 7ish meals a week
gold: 10 meals a week
tartan: 15 meals a week

I really think blue is enough for the average eater, especially if you don’t really digg the food. blue/gold should be enough. if you get tartan, i almost guarantee that you will waste your meals… and you get so less dining dollars.

I’m in the dorms right now and have only Flex 5, and really 5 meals if you’re going home for the weekend seems to be enough, because there are times you’re on campus and that’s when the dining dollars really just begin to help.
