Dorms, campus life, food, etc

My son was accepted as a freshman for fall 2018 to ASU. We are going to visit the campus at the end of the month but I am getting anxious. What is best dorm between Manzanita Hall , Palo Verde East or Palo Verde West? How is the food in the main dining hall? Is the campus safe? Is the campus diverse? Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

My son who is there right now says Manzanita. The PV East and West are older and have not been updated yet.

Dining Halls are ok. My son is in Barrett which has the best dining. But the other dining halls serve ok food. There are several great places at the MU that will take meal swipes or M&G $. The campus is safe. It is big and has its own police force. From what I have seen the campus is quite diverse (racially). Overall, the culture is more conservative than most colleges. That said, it is still a college campus. I don’t want to assume a definition for “diversity”, so I will leave it at that.

@usma87 Thanks for the tip you were absolutely correct. The Manzanita Dorms were much nicer than the others. I was really impressed with the campus.

@itsallaboutme Glad you enjoyed the visit. ASU has been great for my oldest and hopefully will be for my incoming freshman.
