Are the dorms closed 9/28 on for Rosh Hashanah? The students MUST leave during this Holiday break?
Seems odd they're celebrated with no classes since other SUNYs aren't. MUST be a high percentage of Jewish kids compared to other SUNYs.

The dorms will remain open during the Rosh Hashanah break.

Binghamton has been closing for years for the Jewish holidays. I was a student there in the early '80s and they cancelled classes for the Jewish holidays even back then. I do think that it is because of the significant Jewish student population.

Binghamton is 30% Jewish. That’s one of the highest college percentages in the nation. And no, they didn’t kick us out of the dorms since we only got two days off. Last year we were kicked out because they combined Labor Day and Rosh Hashana into a week off.

Um… what? Oswego, New Paltz, Stony Brook, all have off for Rosh Hashanah as well, and those are just the SUNYs where I have friends that I’ve spoken with.
