Dorms?

What are the best dorms at State? I really like Avent Ferry (the size is perfect for me, and I like the personal bathrooms) but its on the east side of campus... how far is the walk to campus? Is it bearable for freshman? Also, I know its not as "social" as the central dorms, but is it still semi-social? Help!

No, you don’t want Avent Ferry. Avent Ferry is across Western Blvd., (a busy four lane road) from every thing else on State’s campus. You would have a loong walk to class and would likely end up needing to catch a bus.

The best place for freshmen is Central campus (Carroll, Bowen,Metcalf) or West campus (Lee,Sullivan,Bragaw). If by chance you are in First Year College, Tucker and Owen can’t be beat. Central campus really is the best location.
Also avoid Wood dorm, it’s a long way from anything.

Yeah, bathrooms are not worth living across Western Blvd. If you visit campus, you’ll see that the area south of Western Blvd shouldn’t even be considered “on-campus.”
