i don't know how much help i am since i don't attend the school, but my boyfriend lives in FAR and doesn't really like it. And i hear Gregory is the best.

if you haven't seen the above site, it's helpful.

does anybody know how competitive it is to get into a Living Learning Community? I'm thinking Weston Experience or LEADs.

also, since its late january, do you think most of the spots for desirable dorms have been taken?

IT is a little antisocial( doors always closed)
Taffy by this time i think ISR is the only one filled up...but u dont wanna live there anyway :)

If u guys have any other questions on specific dorms ill be happy to answer.

where do you live? and would you reccomend it
im looking at newman too, it's religious affiliated (have you heard anything about it, is it completely boring?)

Is Bromley a good place to live?

I live in ISR but i absolutely hate it! Would only recommend ISR to people who hate leaving their rooms and are completely obsessed with playing video games all the time.
Sorry never been to or heard anything about newman
Bromley is really nice. A lot of hot freshmen girls apparently :)

Anyways here r my 2 cents on some of these dorms.
ISR- Boring. Can get really antisocial if u get a bad floor. But very close to campus. has airconditioning. foods better than all other public dorms apparently.
6 pack- Very social. Can get obnoxiously loud at nights. Close to frats. Right next to IMPE( gym). Scotts known to have a lot of hot girls and athletes. Snyder is substance free but a lotta people drink neways. Really nice Late night food.
Allen/ LAR- a lot of music majors and hippies( from what i have heard)
IT- really nice rooms, good food, excellent location, coed floors, not as social as some dorms and expensive.
FAR- mostly freshmen, pretty far from campus but excellent bus service( every 5 minutes), apparently a lot of students get randomly assigned here so a decent mix of population( even tho it seems to have a lot of asians). airconditioning
PAR- pretty much the same as FAR. no air conditioning( i think?). houses a lot of international students.
Hendricks- never been there but all engineers apparently

Hope that helps

newman looks really nice

the private certified housings are different from the regular housing options, right? (like, you have to pay more and stuff?)

yea private certified is up to $10,000 more a year, but the rooms look super nice

not really, at hendrick house the price is about $7,500 for a double room. However, the public dorms are $7,300 for a double room. Only a 200 dollar difference.

oops guess i didnt read the info they sent closely enough

i saw about a $500 difference, but i guess i still need to do more research!

it might vary from dorm to dorm. But i think the 200-500 dollar difference is worth it for the private certified housing.

I think I'll do private certified my 2nd year. I kinda want to experience normal dorm life and meet new people year 1.

hey i was jus deciding the housing and UNIT ONE/ALLEN HALL looks pretty good as they have some calculus, economics and international relationships courses which really suits me..was jus wondering how are he chances of getting allen hall.. and how good is allen hall a dormitory to live in...oh yeah and hows the air conditioning there???? i really need that

I applied to the six pack exclusively

LEADS (LLC) - Garner

Weston Experience (LLC) - Weston

Substance Free (Yearighht!) - Snyder

can you tell me anything about these?

bromley looks really good..i wonder what the latest date i can apply to there is

If you are wanting to get into Bromley and are sweating that your payments will be due before you get your Student Loans, ask for the two payment plan, versus the four payment plan. The problem for most people is coming up with four payments of over $2500 each prior to getting your finances in order...don't listen to the Financial Aid office who says that private housing companies want their money now, and right now...if you speak to at least the folks at Bromley, they will defer your payments until Oct 06 and Feb 07! Of course they charge a small fee of $200, but it's worth the piece of mind. I'm told however, that in Bromley, you can't take food from the cafeteria into your room, but in on-campus housing you can...however, the housing on campus is much smaller and does not offer all of the amenities that Bromley and others offer...just wanted to share this with all of my peeps who are sweating the timing of receiving their financial aid and having to pay for private housing...

newman is really nice- especially if you're catholic. The dorms are roomy; there's space for both people living there. Everyone on the floor I stayed at knew eachother. The food was good. Very cool stuff.
