Are the dorms packed already? I heard people are on waiting list for that.

Well the housing contract has been available to save your spot since like January…

No one would know if they got accepted there yet.

U dont have to be accepted to apply for housing.

it says for me “Contract links open to newly Admitted students beginning on January 14th”. i have not been admitted and it doesn’t show me a link.

Really? Unusual. I hope the dorms aren’t packed. I don’t want to commute -.-

Well, what if you are still in the limbo of being accepted and you’re hundreds of miles away. Will they not be able to admit you because of a lack of space?

That doesn’t sound correct.

Furthermore, they REQUIRE you to live on campus unless you are within a certain radius of their campus. It’s just hard for be to believe that they are already on a waiting list.

I heard that some people have already been on wait listed for dorming. I hope not. I’ve been admitted already. I just need to pay.

"Do I have to be admitted to apply for housing?
If you have applied to Cal Poly Pomona and have received your BroncoName, you will have access to the online Student Housing License Agreement, which provides links to the housing contract.

What if I’m not sure that I will attend Cal Poly?
Since applications are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis, it is highly recommended that you apply, even if you have not made your final decision to attend. It is easier to cancel than to apply later and find that there is a waitlist. Full refunds are given up to four weeks (30 days) prior to the beginning of the quarter."

See you don’t have to be accepted. If this is true than probably a few people who haven’t been accepted applied to housing and are taking up space? Idk

I have two other friends that have been accepted but they dont want to live in the dorms. They dont like the bathroom situation of sharing it with the hall. So they want to rent out of campus, can they do that?
No they do not live in the local area but they are being stubborn.

Also of they cant get a off campus place they want to dorm in the suites, are freshman allowed first year there?

@kp2013

sorry, i should have clarified i am a transfer student.
when i try to go to the student housing license agreement, i get the following information:

“Fall 2013 - Prospective Cal Poly students will have acess to the contract upon being admitted (1st time students to Halls contract & Transfers to Suites & CRS contract)”

i’m still waiting for an admission decision.

if its the same thing for transfer students and i’m wrong - where can i apply?

If your a transfer than why do u want to live in a dorm lol.
Is this the website you went to?
https://housing.csupomona.edu/Studentweb/Login.asp?TargetPage=Default.asp?

If it was then I’m confused too. Hopefully decision are out Friday so all this problems get sorted out

First years are required to live in the dorms. I believe they can’t do that because they have the $300 charge there.

No that’s for freshmens only. Transfer students don’t have to live in the dorms

Well I’m talking as a freshman not transfer.

Has anyone gotten a confirmation that a spot for housing is reserved for you? When did you submit the housing contract?

I submit the contract about a month ago

Does anyone know difficulty in getting suite?
Should I just apply now even though not sure attending.
Was already accepted, and if end up going I don’t want miss out getting on campus housing thanks

I submitted like 2-3 months ago for a suite and got to finally put a housing deposit down like late April. So, I am assuming there is a long waitlist already.

@CalDud I submitted mine in mid-April and 4 days later the housing deposit was put on my payments.
